Farrow & Ball Recipes for Decorating Hardcover – 7 Mar. 2019

We've just moved. Our new home is a bit of a blank canvas - great in some ways but it was difficult to know where to start. This book has spurred us on to make much needed decisions and stopped us just recreating our last place by helping us visualise all the new possibilities.It is easy to read and gives user-friendly information about design principles and use of colour. It provides a wide variety of case studies in different styles eg East London Elegance and Copenhagen. As you'd expect, the photographs are beautiful and the colours true. All paint colours for each scheme are named and listed. I think I will be using this as a reference for a long time to come.The book is good value for money. It arrived very promptly.

A really lovely book for first time home buyers. I bought this as a gift for my sister who recently bought a house but obviously I had to flick through before I gave it to her! It has such beautiful imagery and out of the box ideas, not just for paints that go together but has sections for each room and is a great place for interior design inspiration! Really lovely book that feels expensive and could just sit on your coffee table for guests to flick through too

I really liked at the end of the book there was ideas for rooms based on styles and basically u could pick a style and each room had ideas for walls, ceilings, trims etc each room would compliment each other perfectly. I also loved the book offered guidance about white paint so yes if u wanted to keep woodwork white for instance u didn’t have to keep a stark white the list was there a cheat sheet if u will so u pick the perfect shade for the rest of your room. I’ve never seen that before. For most people paint or wall paper aside from carpets will be a big investment so these tricks of the trade are invaluable. I’m already planning to ditch the white ceilings and woodwork in my wee council flat. These tips would work in any home on any budget with any paint brand once u gain confidence just go with what feels right for your home.

Lovely looking book. Definitely for those who want a lived in, cosy m, warm, relaxed, modern, classic, stylish and beautiful looking home that you see on Instagram and want a helping hand on how to put in together. Or just to have a nice book to look at. However I think with farrow and ball paint it does half the job for you anyway. Yes it’s expensive but in my opinion definitely worth it. (Always worth waiting for when it’s on offer too)

I had a reserve on this book at the library for months. Clearly, people everywhere are decorating in lockdown as the book is in high demand. Unable to wait any longer, I took the plunge and bought it with over £10.00 off. This book is fantastic and worth every penny. Having looked at all the F&B books and reading the reviews, this one was definitely the best choice for me. Joa Studholme is a genius!
