I can read the Bible and then read this commentary to get a history and explanation when I don’t understand. This book is an easy read and great for all new to the Bible and a great reference to the expertise of the Bible.

I've only read a few pages in the commentary on Revelation; and, have already learned something new. He explains the culture of the cities where the seven churches are located that Jesus admonishes. He warns the present daychurch not to commit the same sins they were committing back then.He makes in depth Bible study a joy by explaining the text in plain language. You do not need several degrees to understand what he has written. I recommend this set to all Christians who want to grow in their faith and understanding of the scriptures.

If you want to understand the Bible in depth read this book. The book is divided into chapters covering 1 to three Bible verses sequentially and can easily be read in 15 to 20 minutes. Each morning I read the associated Bible verses and then turn to Wiersbe's commentary. His writing is informative and inspirational. The Old Testament book is about 2 inches thick, very small print and 1532 pages. I started this book one month ago and now on Genesis 35, page 112. It will take me about 14 months to complete the OT commentary. The New Testament Commentary is 1083 pages and likely you could start there, However, The OT is the foundation for the NT.

Our pastor recommended this Bible commentary to use for personal prayer and Bible study at home. It is one that he uses as well. We looked to purchase a set, but these were expensive at the bookstore. I found this bundle on Amazon and it was much more affordable. I use it with my Bible Study to better understand passages. I highly recommend the books as well as this seller who had the best price at the time I purchased my copy.
