Q: How do you get in and out of the tub if you are disabled and not able to lift your feet more than a few inches?

This would not be a good product for a disabled person that is not able to step up over the edge of the tub. It is not easy to get in and out. I have a large seat in my shower, and I am able to use that as leverage, but it is not easy to get in and out of.

Q: Do you have to put it inside a shower? Does it need the wall support or can it be used standalone?

Can be used alone You can put it wherever you want. But you need to have a water outlet nearby or a long enough drainage pipe (the product comes with a telescopic drainage pipe, which can extend up to 33 inches).
