Excellent product that actually works. Worth the cost
We have rodent wire damage to our 98 and 99 Volvo and 2022 Subaru.I use rodent traps, baits around the cars. I have used Repels All, Moth balls, recommended soap, other products. All it takes is one time for damage to be done. This tape is capsaicin infused electrical tape. Fix the damage and wrap around the damaged area a couple times.

A Tape That Keeps Mice Away from Pool Heaters Wiring!
I first discovered Honda’s rodent tape years ago after mice completely destroyed the wiring in my pool heater. Every winter the heater casing became a cozy little shelter; summer I’d come back to find the wiring chewed through beyond repair and face a costly repair service from a pool heater specialist to rewire the heater and power board. After the second time I wrapped the wiring with Honda Tape, the problem stopped—no more costly damage. This year I had to replace my pool heater simply because it had reached the end of its lifespan, not because of mice. To be safe, I bought this replacement rodent tape (OEM 4019-2317 Honda Tape equivalent). It looks and feels just like the original Honda tape, only without the big Honda branding across the outside.Yes, it may seem pricey for what looks like “just fancy electrical tape,” but take it from someone who’s had to pay for full heater replacements before—if it keeps mice away, it’s worth every penny. So far, I’m confident this tape will do the job, and I’ll gladly keep using it for peace of mind.

A hot idea for preventing rodent damage to wiring
Our RV was finally hit: rats or mice chewed on about 10 strands of wire. Some damage was nasty with wires completely chewed through needing new wire and soldering.I bought a roll of Rodent Tape and I was skeptical: Three of us, me, my wife, and our mechanic, all placed a piece of tape, both the flat and adhesive side, on our respective tongues. We felt nothing. My local Mexican restaurant's salsa was spicier. So I contacted the company. Here's what I learned: The tape is designed in layers with mini-capsules of capsicum chili pepper extract inside the tape that bursts open when chewed on by rodents. There's no spice on the outside of the tape.Application is pretty easy: Tape every piece of wire in the engine compartment. The tape sticks well and there's no need to wear gloves when handling it.I've given the product a provisional 3 rating; I'll update this review after about a month with details on whether this roll of very expensive electrical tape keeps rats and mice at bay. Here are the other products I used to prevent further damage:Electriduct 1/2" Tinned Copper Metal Braid Sleeving Flexible EMI RFI Shielding Wire MeshMost useful when wiring can be inserted into the sleeving.
