SENTEI JD-180-LH 7" (18cm) Folding Straight Blade Saw

I purchased this saw to see how it would compare to a silky pocket boy. I have 3 acres of property that are overgrown with small oak trees. I've been using this saw to cut them down at ground level as close as I can get to the dirt. This means a lot of the times the blade is going into the soil. So far I've cut hundreds of trees and the blade is still as sharp as it was new. I don't like the locking mechanism as much as the silky lock. The lock isn't automatic but seems to be strong once engaged. For 25 to $30 I think this would be a great little saw to throw in your backpack for camping or survival use. Easily cuts through smaller trees and branches up to around 4in in diameter. Handle has a nice shape and the rubbery material gives you a good grip.

I have used the Samurai Ichiban for pruning and cutting small trees that are less than chainsaw sized on my property and have been very pleased with its quality and performance. I wanted a packable saw that was more compact and lighter than my Wyoming saw for a backpacking trip this fall. I found what I was after in this saw. It has the same quality steel and aggressive, sharp teeth as the larger saw in a smaller, foldable format with a flat blade. Perfect for my backpacking.

I was looking for a short straight blade saw for my pruning works. It is sharp and very much satisfied to my expectation
