Product quality
A product of excellent quality, however, the instructions for some pieces are a little confusing, otherwise excellent, very satisfied with the purchase.

Five Kits for One Price
I suppose you could build this as one large facility for your layout, but I re-purposed the kit into five separate elements. But first, this is not a beginners kit. The two buildings required lots of patience, painters tape, and rubber bands to assemble. Now, on to the kit:First, the power plant building. I built it as-is, added a Tomix N scale substation and cooling towers, and presto, I now have a modern coal-fired power plant to deliver loads of coal to. Cool!Second, the kit comes with two pulp towers (not shown on the box cover). These towers are huge. In fact, they are a realistic size and shape for modern municipal water towers. So all I had to do is create two decals with the names of the towns, and place "water towers" on my layout as a way to identify locations. Sweet. The kit also comes with a set of storage tanks plus pipes and a little shack. Those will go with the other storage tanks at my fuel oil distribution dealer. That adds yet another location to be serviced by the railroad. BTW, there are also many small extra parts in the kit to add to your spare parts box. Finally there is the factory building. After I assembled and painted the buildings, but before installing the windows, I used a technique in a recent Model Railroader to make realistic mortar: rub on drywall paste, let it dry, and rub off. To my amazement, this revealed some incredibly detailed brick work on the walls. Beautiful. Overall, this makes for a very large building by itself. I am tempted to cut it into separate one- and two-story factory buildings, adding false rear walls, and using them for separate locations. This would bring the total to six kits.My one complaint is that Walthers did not etch colored mullions and transoms onto the windows of the factory building. The windows are large solid clear plastic pieces. They could have done better. All in all, this kit can easily add multiple interesting items to any good sized N scale layout. Highly recommended.

background building - very nice detail.
note: this is a background building - it's only 3 sides - remember that when you are planning it for your layout.great detail on the front side, with the stairways.

Nice detailed addition to the N Scale layout
This is a fine reproduction crane: highly detailed and well worth the time it takes to build it right. Parts are small and tweezers help in the building process. The color of the plastic is originally orange on the sprue, not yellow. I used Piper Cub yellow and some weathering black to get the color much more realistic. If you're building a model intermodal yard, you want this.

It’s Orange not Yellow
It’s a good model if you have modelling skills as the railings, crane attachment and cab are a bit difficult to do. Wasn’t a problem for me but might be for others. It comes Orange in color like the real prototypes and I recommend painting it as the plastic it some what thin and transparent which paint takes care of. Looks great on the layout!

very challenging
This took a while to build but was fun to make and looks great in my train layout. Walthers do make great model kit's kind of hard to go wrong with them.

Add-on. Not a finished building.
Be cautious when ordering this kit. It is an add-on, not a finished building. I made this mistake. Fortunately, I was able to buy “build from scrap” parts at Hobby-Link and finished it. A lot of work, but it looks like a finished building now.
