Perfect for connecting multiple optical audio cables to a single optical input
My hi-fi amplifier only has one optical audio input. I bought his unit to enable me to plug 3 optical cables into the port. I'm using it to connect the digital audio from a Tibo wireless music streamer, CD player and LG ultra short throw projector. It allows me to select, at the turn on the switch, which source is played through the amp. It's brilliant! Doesn't take any setting up or explaining. So simple and perfect for my needs.

Functional but pretty chunky.
This unit does what it says on the tin, but it is huge, and the switch is a little clunky.

Well made switch that does not look out of place at the side of the TV.
Slightly bigger than expected which is actually a benefit when using the switch. Positive locking of the switch into each of the 3 ports ensures good contact and signal transmission. Used to take the input from a hi-if unit and from a TV and feed either of them to a sound bar.

Item does not work
Very disappointed with this. Firstly it would not connect to my sound bar, so then I got an adapter to connect to the sound bar and tried connecting the splitter to that. It still does not work. I’ve connected cables directly to the sound bar and also through the adapter and they work, so it’s clear the issue is with the splitter.

Easy to use, good value for money.
Worked like a dream to connect my Panasonic tv and Sky Q box to my Samsung 5.1 surround sound system.

Does the job I bought for, namely to be able to listen to the TV using wireless headphone or sound bar by flicking a switch.

The Video Splitter was 2nd Hand
The unit had a scratch on the back of the case and the control knob was covered in fingerprints. If there are supposed to be any instructions on how to operate the knob they were not included. Overall bitterly disappointed and have repacked the item and returned it through Royal Mail for a refund
