Durable and reliable
Very sturdy, easy to use, and has been an effective deterrent from theft for several years.

It’s a Tank!
Like others have said, it’s heavy duty and should dissuade a would-be thief. It’s long enough to wrap the frame and tires, but that makes it a bit heavy. Need to use both hands, hold the ends, and push the “hole” end all the way in, then gently turn the key, don’t force it. I feel like I could snap the key off if I really wanted. That should not be an issue with constant pushing while turning the key.

Heavy, but worth it!
Great chain for multi purpose uses. We have electric bikes that we chain to our camper tongue and feel much better about leaving them outside.

HEAVY duty. No lock can protect your bike 100%
I chose this lock because its robust construction should deter the type of bike thieves that may be lurking in my neighborhood. I am very unlikely to encounter "professional" thieves in my small city/countryside environment. I am convinced that the girth of the lock and chain will make it very hard for a random person with bolt cutters or small grinding wheel to cut through quickly. I expect that a professional lock picker could open it in about 20 seconds - but I don't think the average bike thief around here is a professional lock picker. The down sides for me is that the weight of this thing is heavier than you think so bringing it along requires wearing an extra 11 pounds - that feels more like 25 or putting it in a basket. The lock mechanism seems surprisingly tricky. Its a simple key, but sometimes you have to play with it to get it to work. I need to be cautious that the small uncovered area of the chain (where it fits in the lock), doesn't chip the beautiful paint on my bike while removing it from what the bike is locked to.

Really happy with it!
Finally bit the bullet and picked up a solid lock for my mountain bike. Fits around the front triangle on my mountain bike and easily reaches around to lock it to my 1up bike rack without having a lot of excess. However, it would not be long enough to go through the triangle, front wheel AND rack. While I'd still never leave my bike unattended for long periods (even with this), it does help when traveling and needing to stop at a rest stop with my bike on my car. Easy to lock/unlock (no hangups in the internal mechanism), and it's nice that it has a lock cover to prevent dirt and grime from getting into the lock. The outer material prevents the heavy metal chain from contacting my bike. Overall really happy with it!

Perfect for inner-city living...
My son won a new bike, valued at $700. Was not about to take a chance on it getting stolen... I love this chain! Solid, heavy, a weight you can feel. No issues since we've bought it, and it's been tested. Out at shopping malls, plazas, schools, stores, etc. This kid bikes everywhere, and every time he goes out, he comes back with his bike. It's been almost three months and no issues. Because of the weight, my son wears this like a sash across his body when riding, but other than that, we love it.

Bigger than I thought, but in a good way
I measured it out and figured I knew how big this thing would be but it's hard to prepare for a chain this size arriving for your bike. This is 1/3rd the weight of my regular mountain bike and 1/7th the weight of my ebike, so you better have a means to attach it to your bike whether it's tied to your cargo rack or looped around something.I feel pretty confident locking my bike up with this thing during the day to go grab some food or groceries, that most aren't going to be interested in stealing my bike. It works like a charm with my ebike, where I wrap it around the frame & front wheel & a pole easily, so 5 feet was a good choice regardless of my surprise. The lock is a bit finicky to open but that's what some lubricant is for- in fact you can get lock lube on amazon which helps get these things working better and is something you'll need regardless to maintain your lock. So those that have complained they're straining their key are not doing a great job taking care of their lock.If you got an ebike with a cargo rack I think this will be a good option to help keep your bike safe- as long as you're not leaving it outside, unattended for hours and hours. For that you absolutely should invest in 2 different types of locks.

perfect for my moped
I use it on a Puch Maxi. There isn't a great way to lock up this sort of bike, so it'd be way easier for someone to take apart the bike and steal most of it rather than cut the lock, but for the use of a deterrent, this works well. It's a good solid lock that I'd trust my normal bike with. I tried the heavier New York version of this chain, but it was wayyy too heavy for my moped. This is a happy medium.
