Stanley 12-105 RB5 Plane
Poor finish & quality, not comfortable to use, difficult to adjust, can't sharpen the blade and very ordinary results when trying to use in both modes. DONT GO NEAR IT!!!!

Good for the price
This is good little plane for the price. It has replaceable blades and an adjustment screw. It works also as a bullnose plane. I made two modifications: 1) The recess that holds the blade I made more square for a better grip and 2) I replaced the m5 thumb bolt with a better one. I use it for leveling plywood patches and scraping glue.

Only half as useful as it looks
This plane works only on very soft wood and usually not a level plane. It is notoriously hard to adjust and I just found it easier to disassemble items to be planed and do them with my bench plane.

difficult to adjust and use
The blade was almost impossible to assemble and adjust. I wanted to clean up a rabbet, but this just did not work. Instead I used the back edge of a well-sharpened chisel as a scrapper, which worked well.

Worst Stanley product ever
Worst Stanley product ever - it's a joke; they saved money using cheap zinc alloy and tiny blades of tool steel. I have used wood planes all my life and would never recommend this junk. I guess maybe if you only want to use it once.

Great for the purpose (just not my purpose)
It works splendidly, and I think the replaceable blade is an apt solution for those of us who are not equipped to put as fine an edge as necessary on a woodworking tool. I would give it five stars but it is larger than I needed, since I am working on a miniature project and had been shopping for miniature block planes. My mistake, but still it's a good tool.
