🔧 Elevate Your Edge Game!
The Norton-Saint Gobain Abrasives WSC Japanese-Style Combination Waterstone features a dual grit of 1000 for refining and 8000 for polishing, making it an essential tool for maintaining sharp edges on knives and tools. Measuring 8 inches by 3 inches by 1 inch, this waterstone uses water as a lubricant for easy cleaning and requires less force than traditional oil stones. It's perfect for both professional chefs and DIY enthusiasts looking to keep their cutting tools in top condition.

Nothing like Norton
Have been using the 1000/8000 combination for almost 10 years, have tried various others and these are by far my favorite. The 1000 is super quick and the 8000 give a great polish and works great for lapping and burr removal (which many other 8000 stones are not as comfortable for - on the Norton everything just feels right).I recommend the separate stones, but got this combination stone for my students so they can feel what a really great stone feels like. Get it and don’t look back.Refael Greenblatt, Studio Adama, Israel.

Excellent all-around stone
The 1000-grit side cuts quickly. The 8000-side polishes beautifully. You don't need the stone to be dead flat. Search for "Paul Sellers sharpening" and you'll find a few videos that discuss convex-bevel sharpening, which is easy, quick, and works really well.Make sure to soak the stone in water for a few minutes before sharpening. This will get you the good kind of slurry. Just spritzing will not give as good results. The plastic holder/box is a nice touch, but I wouldn't use it as the actual holder while sharpening. Put the wet stone on a towel and it won't slide or create a mess, either.I use the 1000 and 8000 sides for everyday honing of woodworking tools, and the 8000 side for my straight razor every now and then. Works perfectly.

Would/will buy again
Have used this combo stone to hone several plane irons and chisels so far. Width of stones is fantastic for all the above. Hones a razor sharp edge with a mirror finish. Back of my wrists are now baby-butt smooth as proof. Just be sure to flatten the stones frequently and check them for flatness before first use. Pays to do some research if you've never used waterstones.

Four Stars
Stones were great. However, the plastic case was damaged in shipment. Was easily glued back into place.
