Can I use the external source (like receiver or connected TV) to adjust the volume, instead of having to increase volume on the actual speakers?

As long as you are connected by wire instead of bluetooth, yes you can control volume from your TV. I plan to use my computer HDMI to TV HDMI and connecting them via OPTICAL cable from the TV. REMEMBER, it only changes the volume going into the speakers and not the speakers themselves.

From sound source to speakers is blue tooth--no wires needed. If you are going from sound source to speakers via optical or RCA you may need wires. Everything else is included.

How possible would it be to mount these on a wall? Walls being plywood.

the wires are up to you ,but there is a way to hang anything, these, Go to a Framing shop like a Art Gallery, they have Security Hardware and or Cleets that we use for large art Heavy items like Mirrors that anchor into the wall and with a special wrench can lock into place (Like at hotel rooms Art)

Can i connect other systems to it like a center channel?

Yes, actually you can. They have plenty of ports in the back you can use to connect them to other stereos. Super simple. Whoever said you can't clearly doesn't know that it is possible.
