It's made from natural Wool and doesn't use any chemicals
A great product, which is easy to apply. It is at a high price point, however it lasts and is ideal for those using the no-dig method, as once the pellets are wet they spread to form a wool layer on the top of the soil which discourages the snails and slugs. We had been over run by snails in our small raised beds and have used this product over the last 3 years to help combat it, alongside visual checks and removal of the little offenders, it has helped greatly reduce damage caused by slugs and snails. It isn't an 'instant fix' and you need to be aware that snails will climb and reach over for plants too from walls etc; they will do what they can to avoid the wool layer too. If you plan your planting and use a good deep band of the pellets it works very well. Yes, the product does have an initial odour, but this is short lived - wool does smell and this is to be expected. I recommend this product, as it's been tried an tested here and works really well and as an added bonus it also helps keep the moisture in too, so reduces the amount of watering needed for the plants as well.

Does not deter slugs well
Disappointing. You need so much round each plant if you follow the instructions, so it is very expensive to use. It seemed to work for sone plants and not for others. I will not be buying it again.

Works, I’m happy
First year planting in this garden and discovered we have a huge slug problem, plucking slugs off of my veggies 3 times a day with no end in sight, tried different things and decided to give this a go. Easy to put around the base of the plants and then water in. First morning after found loads of slugs sitting at the edge of the pellets still trying to get to the food, haven’t found any on the cabbages since putting it down. Smells a bit like a farm for the first few days but only close up. Safe for the grandkids to be around. Need bulk bags so I can do more planters. Bought 3 packs, it covered 2 planters, one 3 foot long and one 4 foot long both 2 foot wide. It’s not cheap but does the job I needed it to do so worth the price

Smells horrendous but works!!
As another reviewer said this smells absolutely awful, not just of sheeps wool but something really vile. However the smell subsided and it really seems to work. I have the best foliage on ligularia that I’ve had for years.

Ok
They've not kept the slugs away from my courgettes but everything else seems to be slug free.I wasn't too sure how much you put on so I went by other people's photos. I put a thin layer around most things except the courgettes but they still got munched. The smell is horrible but I don't care. It goes after a couple day's.It's kept the weeds away, retains water, plants look healthier (except munched courgettes obviously)I wouldn't buy again because I don't think you get enough for the price and it didn't work on everything.I managed to put this around 2 courgettes, a row of rocket and kale and the last around a peony.Arrived fast and well packaged.Just not enough for the price for me.

Deters slugs from hostas and delphiniums
I have used this produce previously and found it most satisfactory in keeping slugs at bay, we are quite slug ridden. It's not obtrusive being grey pelleted wool, it's no hazard to children, pets and birds, provides a good mulch and after the season is over I dig it into the soil where it is lightening my heavy clay soil. I don't like using poisonous products in the garden and this is a very good solution, however, if you want to cover a lot of ground it would be expensive. A second benefit is that it is helping our sheep farmers (I hope), and if it becomes popular with gardeners it will probably come down in price so I recommend it.

Did absolutely nothing?
Did absolutely nothing, piled up around flowers in greenhouse and every night more plants eaten, ended up at qam with a torch getting rid of snails and slugs, bought some copper mesh? Works fine, save your money.
