Purina Pro Plan High Protein Gravy Wet Cat Food, SPECIALIZED Healthy Metabolism Formula Chicken Entree - (Pack of 24) 3 oz. Pull-Top Cans

I feed Pro Plan Healthy Metabolism to both my young cats who accept it well, but I originally bought it as the primary food for my old cat now gone to the bridge, who was diabetic and needed both liquid content in his food, little or no carbs [grains etc] and high protein, and a taste he could like. The first three ingredients of Pro Plan HM Chicken are water for processing, chicken and liver; there is some wheat gluten and corn starch for the gravy, but no fillers like legumes, rice, garden veg, potatoes, soy and the like which are basically of no nutritional value to cats; the crude protein minimum is 11%. Orion maintained well on this food and his insulin for 15 years, as an indoor cat. I recommend it for any cats on a canned diet who prefer real meat, bite size pieces rather than pate or shreds, and/or may need help keeping at a healthy weight.

My male cat is twice the size of the female who is picky about what she eats. I showed it to their vet who approved it for both of them. I am so glad it is back in stock even at the higher price!

My cat Sassy.. was a full blown diabetic.. with sugar or 585 when I got her... s/b 100 ..but the RX food the vet wanted me to give her was just out of my budget.. along with the insulin.. so researched the food.and found that Purina had an better product.. I started her on it.. along with the Gilipizide and her symptoms have disappeared.blood sugar is down to 150.. not perfect but we can live with it.. . and she has lost some weight.. This product has been a blessing.. easy to use.. flip top can. and the cat loves it..

My cats are, ok with it. My usual “subscribe & save” wasn’t available, and at least 1/2 the substitution options Amazon offered were unrelated (like dog treats), so I selected this one. It’s very gravy heavy, so slightly less meat than the usual stuff I buy.

During the pandemic, the food I used to get for my cats went out of business. I feed both wet and dry food, 2x a day. I ended up buying another brand that made them gain a bunch of weight. Luckily, I found this brand that is not pate, since they prefer the sauce. Both my cats seem to really enjoy this food and the vet just told me it's her favorite brand to use. My cats have deflated, and lost most of the unfortunate covid weight, and are now at a great stable size.Plan to keep them on this, got it on auto shipment already!

Zoey gets 1/4 cup of dry food earlier in the day, but gets a can of the chicken & gravy formula as her dinner. She absolutely LOVES this food and goes nuts whenever we crack open the can. We were advised to switch out her 1/8 cup of dry food for dinner with a wet food instead and it's resulted in her losing several pounds. We were a little afraid about introducing a new food because sometimes that can cause digestive problems for animals, but she never had any change in bathroom habits or characteristics. She loves this food so we keep buying it.
