The Story:I have for years, endured flaky skin on my lower leg area. Taking off a pair of tights was like being in a snow storm, which is quite horrible. I have also been prone to dry hard skin on the feet, in particular the heel area. I have tried various moisturisers over time including E45 and emollient prescription items such as Zerobase and none have been successful; they’ve been thick in consistency and require much rubbing into the skin, smell awful and have never improved the flakiness or hard skin, for me anyway. Trawling through the net on the subject of teeth whitening, I happened across a very informed individual who also had experience with skin care products. Soaking up what the presenter had to say I gave the Neutrogena® Hydro Boost® Body Lotion Gel with Hyaluronic Acid 750ml a try.The Product:The consistency is lightweight and easy to disperse. It sinks in immediately leaving the skin silky smooth to the touch without greasiness, therefore allowing for dressing immediately if required. The product contains hyaluronic acid a naturally occurring molecule in body tissue, which as the years progress, decreases. Hyaluronic acid is a non-irritating skincare ingredient. It is suitable for all skin types, as all skin types need hydration, but it is especially beneficial for aging or dehydrated skin. Oily skin apparently also loves it, since it hydrates the skin without leaving a greasy residue. Hyaluronic acid is an exceptional hydrator capable of holding 1000 times (one thousand) its weight in water which it draws from the atmosphere giving the skin the hydration it needs because the hyaluronan in the body is degraded and synthesised by a third every day. I use it twice a day and my skin is now supple and the best it has been in years.The ingredients:Despite the advertisement here stating that this is fragrance free it is not, it states ‘parfum’ near the end of the ingredients list. This body lotion also contains petrolatum which is fifth on the list. If this is something you are trying to avoid you may want to bypass this.The Verdict:I have no flakiness issues with the lower legs and no hard skin on the feet.
