For iPad Air 1 A1474 A1475 Touch Screen Digitizer Glass Replacement with Tools and Adhesive (White)

Great item, easy fitment. Only downside was not all the adhesive stuck well enough.It came with the home button which was a nice bonus.

I used this part for IPad Air model 1474, it has some advantages and disadvantages, the price of the part is really fair, quality of the screen glass and ports connection are perfect there are as good as original one, I am not really sure about its home button which many people have complained about it, that because of it is still new! The main problem this part is it’s installed adhesive glue, that is really disappointing for you after two hours stressful job finished with some unstick side, I tried to heat and put a bit pressure on unstick side but didn’t work, finally I sorted with sticks tape, the tools come out with it is okay but should be better!

As a retired photocopier and printer engineer, I am used to dealing with intricate electronic equipment so I decided to take on this project. The glass on my iPad Air was totally shattered. As it's quite an old model now, I was able to buy an identical replacement for about the same money as it would have cost to have the screen replaced professionally, but this left me with the old fully functioning iPad but with a shattered screen.Having bought this screen (I got a white one to identify the old one from the new one) I found a YouTube video for the replacement procedure and soon discovered that the tools supplied with this item were totally inadequate. You will need:Nitrile glovesEye protection (I used my reading glasses)A heat gun or hairdryerA metal tool such as a knife or thin steel rulerSomething to tape up the old glass if it is shatteredA vacuum cleaner nozzle with a soft brush headThe hardest part of this is removing the old screen. The video will show you how, but you must have a metal tool, not the useless plastic ones that are supplied. As for tape to keep the old shattered screen together and minimise loose glass fragments, I found that masking tape was preferable to clear tape as it it will withstand the heat form the heat gun better. Having done that and removed the LCD screen, you will need to clean off carefully all of the old adhesive residue with some suitable solvent.The screen itself fitted perfectly and the Home button fitted to it seems to be ok.There are some intricate procedures in the course of this operation. If you are not confident, then best to have the job done professionally.

This lenses/digitiser replacement is great value for money. So easy to fit after watching tutorials online and comes with the required tools. One important note, if the digitiser you are replacing has shattered/broken glass then use cello tape or equivalent to cover the glass before removing. Saves you money to fit yourself instead of local repair specialists.

Poor quality. Home button collapsed after a week

Medium quality replacement. The tools that come included are not particularly useful (the sucker is next to useless). It was nice that the small screwdriver had a slight magnetic attraction.The screen itself doesn't feel as good as the original and the button has a slight rattle to it. I guess for £15 this is to be expected and it does appear to function OK so far.

My granddaughters iPad had the screen broken and my son fixed it with this item as it was easy to do. Great instructions given on how to do this as well.

Bought this twice. The glass was faulty both time im very unhappy! The button on the glass is very loose and when we fitted the glass the button just came off and there was no way of repairing it without taking off the glass whitch obv got shattered so had to get second one and exact same thing happen again! Cant be bother to order another one when this thing happen twice. Got my money back for 1 but still not happy with the second faulty glass... better to find one and bit more expensive i would sey.
