Got this to attach a 10', 1-1/4" diameter round aluminum pole to a 4" square fence pole. Needed to mount a weather station on top of the round pole 10' off the ground.Bought a new weather station and wanted to mount it as high as possible. Didn't want to dig a hole, pour concrete, to mount the pole so I decided to use the post on my existing backyard fence to hold the pole.The fence has a 4" diameter square post. I put the pole next to the fence post and used 4 of these clamps to hold it tight. This held the pole tight to the fence post and allowed me to mount my weather station up 10'The 8" clamps were long, so I cut about 3-4" off of them and put them around both the fence post and aluminum pole. Took a while to turn the adjusting mechanism tight. At the same point on every full turn, it got difficult to tighten, I had to use extra force each time to get past this point.Other than that, it worked well. Appears to be very tight but don't know why it couldn't have worked smoother.

I use these clamps to clamp together segmented bowl parts. They are cheap, so I didn't expect too much. I got what I expected. The turn screw heads are 1/4 inch and fit tightly against the band making it very difficult to get a socket on them. Most of the ones I've bought at the local auto shop have 5/16 screw heads and are raised enough above the band to allow a socket to fit. The screw housings are thinner than normal and make it easy to over tighten and break and harder to remove because the screw itself, releases from the housing and unscrews completely. They are ok for a one time application.

I use these clamps to hold segmented bowl rings together while the glue dries. Not the intended purpose, but they work well.
