I also did seed prep like soaking and sanding
One baobab survived and is now on year 3 or 4 since purchase. A few others germinated (bought multiple batches) but I live in a rough zone for baobabs, plus had a lot of pest issues from other plants, so only one lived. I would guess that it's about a 1 in 6 germination rate, so buy enough seeds to be okay. I also did seed prep like soaking and sanding. Unfortunately, some never sprouted at all and some got fungus (planted some without soaking, so it is a risk regardless of whether you do the boiling water soak method to soften the seed). I'm not an expert gardener but did follow a lot of the online advice about baobabs and researched it quite a lot before trying it. Note: I do buy seeds from multiple vendors on Amazon but I believe this vendor is the batch where I had the most success.

Not Baobab Seeds
I have eaten enough apples in my life to know what their seeds look like. I recieved a small packet of seeds from the Philippines around 4 weeks after ordering. The seeds were not baobab, which are the side and shape of a lima bean and dark brown in color. These seeds appear to be apple seeds. Only time will tell. However, now that I know people cannot tell the difference between apples and baobab, I have a new buisiness plan I can't wait to try.

Most of the seeds germinated
I was a little pessimistic that any of the seeds would germinate after reading how difficult these trees are to grow and the preparation you have to follow before you actually put the seeds into the soil. However, I was sent about 5 extra seeds (i.e. 15 total), and of the 15, about half germinated and now I have mini baobab trees! I hope they last over the winter inside my house! I'm planning to make bonsai trees out of them.

5/5 germination rate so far. Live in California
Tried to germinate half the seeds. After about 1 week I have 2 seeds that are sprouting and the other 3 look like they are about to sprout.I soaked with boiling water and let it sit for about a day and a half. Then I cut a part of the brown outer shell for 2 of them and planted all 5 seeds. It seems to help the seed germinate more quickly. The other 3 look like they are trying to get through the shell but I wont crack it since Im afraid of killing the seed.

Not Baobab seeds
I received 18 seeds. I have no idea what they are, but they are definitely not Baobab seeds. They are tiny and pointed, not large and bean-shaped like Baobab seeds. I'll plant them and see what happens, but I definitely didn't get what I ordered.

Great Product!!
They were all real seeds which are all growing to my delight, I will definitely buy more again! I would recommend this to anyone, even a brown thumb.

Pretty Good
Only 2 of the seeds have sprouted and they seem to be very healthy and happy. If more of them sprout I will change the rating. My son became very interested in the baobab tree so we decided to give growing a few one good shot. So far I'm happy with the ones that are growing.
