In the age of needing to buy fabric online due dwindling fabric stores, this is an indispensable resource for anyone who sews clothing and home décor items. It has actual swatches of fabric for touch and feel. The book outlines details of the fabric such as best use, care, etc. It has swatches of fabric that I will never use, but for choosing fabric, especially some of the newer knits, this is great! Pricey but worth it!

I have been looking for a fabric swatch book for quite some time. I sew apparel for myself, and buying fabric online can be a challenge if I don't know exactly what I want. This book gives you actual fabric swatches to feel, and it also gives you the information about each fabric such as what it can be used for. I have been looking at purchasing it for some time, but I was having a hard time justifying the price point when I couldn't see the book. I am so glad I gave in and got it, as it is exactly what I was looking for. 100% recommend for newer sewists just learning about fabric types.

Stop wasting money on fabric swatches.This helped me decide what type I wanted and kept me from buying all kinds of swatches. I'm not a professional dress maker but I wanted to make some garmets so they helped point me in the right direction.Nothing beats being able to feel fabric.

Love my book. It came in great condition. I can see why it may fall apart in the future...but whatever. It is a great book with samples and all the information I've been looking for. Everyone who sews, is learning to sew, or designs clothing would benefit from a book like this. I love mine. It is so valuable, I don't ever see myself getting rid of it.

The swatches are already organized for you! This is a great introductory book for the price. I am just a hobby self-taught sewer, so I found this to be really useful for ordering fabrics online. They are organized by material--animal, plant, or created. The silks are amazing. They also included different weaves of similar threads so that you can feel the texture and thickness. The pages are on a 3-ring binder, so they turn easily and fit for how thick they are.

I wanted this because I'm new to sewing and unsure about some fabrics. The material squares are small, but you can feel and see the patterns. This was a large expense, but we'll worth it.

I'm annoyed that a shrinkwrapped copy is missing a swatch of fabric. But otherwise it's an excellent resource that I find will be helpful in choosing the correct fabrics for the right project. I like how in depth it goes. I also bought Fashion for Fabric l: The Complete Guide, to work alongside it. It is perfect.I'm at 3 stars because of the missing swatch, otherwise it's a 5 star book to have in your library if your into fabrics or want to be a better designer.I dont want to go through the hassle of returning it but there were some way to exchange or get the swatch I would change my rating.
