Don’t wait until you hear something that sounds like a tin can bouncing around your engine
Although it’s not in the description of items the kit I received included the crankshaft pulley bolt. I ordered OEM bolt from Ford separately that cost me money to return. It looks like a daunting job, but very doable with help of a few very experienced people with detailed videos onlineKit comes with instructions tooNew OEM parts have been improved to aid in oil distribution and better sealsMy gas truck no longer sounds like a diesel when runningIf you hear a noticeable increase in engine rattle on the 3 valve, you probably need this kit plus other parts very soon.

Don’t waste your time or money on the aftermarket stuff. Well worth the money.

Everything appears to be FORD parts though I have some questions.
I am very please with the FORD parts - all appear to be Ford parts in Ford packaging. Only concern I have are the VCT solenoids - which...as removed from the bag don't appear to be Ford parts. They are not marked at all - no Ford part number. Some enlightenment would be appreciated. Perhaps Ford changed suppliers. Otherwise, everything looks good. Question - where do you find IRON tensioners for the 3V? These are plastic and - as I understand it - they fail.

Stupid stickers
Everything came as advertised. Bolted right on, truck runs great.Only stupid thing is the ford stickers on the guides. 1 was in a bag, stickers free. 3 had the ford sricker on them and they don't just peel off

Just so you know...
I've had this installed in the truck, along with a high-volume Melling oil pump, for six months. I have no complaint with the seller, as everything was exactly as described and what I wanted. However...One of the cam phasers just died, despite being the updated design. So, take a deep breath when you buy this kit to fix your engine... there is a "non-zero" chance you will have to revisit this job. If you've done your research, you know this is a likely possibility.I still believe this is the best option available. So, if you're unfortunate and this does happen to you:-Suck it up-Put your war paint on-Use a new cam bolt on the replacement-Get it doneStay strong, fellow wrench-benders.

Yes it's OEM!
This kit is shipped from the parts department of a Ford dealership in PA. All parts are definitely OEM Ford parts. They get 5 stars from me, not because everything was perfect, but because something wasn't and the way they handled that. One of the two phasers I received was defective out of the box. It was a flaw that I'm guessing the vast majority of people, including professional mechanics, would never have noticed. Only when I put a scan tool on the truck after installation and checked the VCT Advance Error rate, did I notice the problem. The value on both banks should hover around zero degrees with some variation, but certainly no more than 1 degree at idle. While hovering around zero as it should, one of the two would jump to +4 degrees a few times per second. This did not affect performance in any noticeable way and was not nearly out of spec enough to throw a code. But it wasn't perfect, and for the price of Ford parts, I expect perfect.I called the seller's contact phone number as listed on this site. As I mentioned, it goes to a Ford dealership in PA. I connected to the parts department and explained the issue. They quite happily shipped a brand-new phaser to me via UPS that arrived the next day with a pre-paid label to ship back the defective one. I couldn’t ask for more than that! The replacement worked perfectly. The timing job is done and I’m a happy camper. Also, please don’t be discouraged by the couple of one-star ratings on here that show photos of damaged phasers. Those are very clearly installation mistakes. Those locating pins get smashed and the cam locating holes get beat up like that when the phasers are not seated properly on the cam and/or when the phaser bolts are not torqued properly. That’s not to say that it’s impossible for a genuine Ford part to be defective, as my experience clearly shows, but those particular instances were botched installs.

If you value your engine do not buy this
If you value your engine do not buy this! The phasers in the kit are supposedly Ford phasers but their metal hardness is entirely unacceptable. They are weak and break at idle. After doing the complete timing job my 5.4 idled for around 15 minutes then suddenly died in the driveway as it was reaching operating temperature. The hubs inside the phasers completely let go from the camshaft. When things fail like this it WILL ruin your engine!!And, of course, the shop I took my truck to didn't get to the job fast enough so now I'll have to battle to get a refund and I'll also have to battle to get made whole after the damages to my engine and additional mechanic labor. These parts are completely unacceptable and this has become a complete nightmare.
