I have purchased other (cheaper) jikatabi in the past and the quality of these is noticeably better, although unfortunately the fit is not. It does not say so in the listing, but there's a sticker on the box that says JP 26 is a US Men's 8/Women's 9. That is indeed my normal size, but these are a little narrower than my others and that, coupled with a thickly cushioned insole makes them much too tight. Take the insole out and you get a highly flexible shoe with a barefoot feel, but then, why did I pay extra to get all that cushioning? Rikio makes less-cushioned versions that probably fit as stated, but if you want this version to fit, ordering a size up is probably a good idea.

Good shoes, but make sure you can return them for sizing.This are very good shoes. However, sizing is a little strange compared to regular shoes. This shoes need to fit more tightly to the foot to get the right feel. They need to cup your foot closely, so you might want to go smaller.However, the maker has added a very thick insole. This insole was so thick I couldn't get my foot into the shoe until it was removed. I first ordered my size, but with the insole the vertical space was too small. Without the insole it was fine, but maybe just a touch long. I then got a full size down instead of a half size, and that was too small. A full size was an over compensation.I'm currently waiting on a half size down and my intention is to take the insole (see photos) and tear the tan top off the white, return just the tan insole to the shoe, and wear them that way. I think I will get a lot of use out of these shoes.Highly recommended.
