This is a great book for Math Kangaroo preparations
This is a great book for Math Kangaroo preparations. I would expect the illustrations to be better as they are sometimes confusing for kids when doing tests. The MK test itself is not confusing, so the authors can improve the illustrations in some areas, Otherwise the content and coverage and solutions are very good.

Missing many test questions (out of 6 total 2.5 tests not printed).
This book is good, but I found out major printing issues. On test #3, I saw it stopped abruptly. Nex page is answer key for test 5 and test 6 starts. Missing several pages. Unfortunately, I was counting on using this book till March 20 test day and now don’t have questions to prepare for.

Great book just very hard for 1st - 2nd grade
Several of the reviews suggest that the problems are poorly worded. This is not true. They are merely open to several (false) interpretations. When the reader figures out what the correct answer is, the false ones are shed like morning dew off off of leaves. As most scientists, designers, makers-of-anything will tell you, correctly stating the problem or object you want to make or solve is 90% of the problem. Thus, in this sense, these 'nebulous' problems are EXCELLENT practice. It is questionable whether any but the very gifted 1st-2nd graders can answer the more difficult questions by themselves. But as the Math Kangaroo aims to tease out the best, this book is a good workbook. Just be ware that the hard questions are REAALLY hard for the average 1st and 2nd graders.People who gives this only book 1,2, or even 3 stars are merely sour grapes for whom this book is the first encounter that their little Susie or Tommy isn't as smart as they think they are. Hint: There are are 1st and 2nd for whom this book is too easy.

The Bad: The language used to explain the questions lacked clarity and this is especially on a chunk of the 5 point problems. Those could have been explained clearly and in different words. It was challenging to work with my first grader on those set of hazy questions in particular. Had they been given with clarity (as are in real math kangaroo test papers), I would have been happier with the purchase than I am now!The Good: The questions are similar to Math Kangaroo past papers.

Useful tutorial book
The book is helpful for drill before the test, the only cons is that it is a little pricey.

5 pointers questions are too easy.
Good book for practice. However less distinction between 3, 4 and 5 point questions. Actual test has easier 3 pointers and harder 5 pointers than this book.
