Awesome strobe for the money
I received my AD400Pro and the first thing I noticed was the new battery with the external reset button (yellow tag). I put it through its paces and it worked flawlessly with the X3s trigger! The TTL and colors were also spot on! I am going to use this as my main outdoor portrait strobe along with my AD300Pro for my secondary light setup. Great purchase for my growing Buisness!

I Am A Godox Fan for Life!
I used to waste all of my money on more expensive equipment, but now that Godox is here making these market disrupting power houses, I am a very happy camper. I have sold all of my other lights and am totally Godox now. Before I got the AD400 Pro, I already had a couple of the AD600's. I kinda knew what to expect, but I really didn't. In the pictures I posted here, it really doesn't do the 400 justice, it is so much smaller, so much lighter than the 600. The power is obviously not the same, but it's still incredibly impressive. The modeling lamp is almost blinding too. I have used these as video lights as well. I really love how I can use this, with the 600, 200 and speedlites by Godox all from the Xpro remote. Life is so much easier now!I took a bts shot during one of my editorial shoots. I placed the Bowens mount adapter on the AD400Pro and threw an octabox on. I was really blown away by how powerful this little guy is. And it held up to my large Bowens mount light modifiers as well. The only downside is that it's quite a process to put the Bowens mount adapter on and off and you can't put the reflector/bulb protector on with the Bowens adapter on. However, I found a work around for this that I am very proud of. If I am going to use Bowens mount modifiers, I just put the adapter on and use one of the AD600Pro reflectors/bulb protectors to cover it. Works like a charm. Check out the pictures to see.All in all, this is an ingenious light system and for the price, it is absolutely unbeatable! I will be buying a couple of more of these to round out my kit.

Great for studio and field use - no power cords - battery lasts and lasts - fast recycle time!
Finally getting around to reviewing my Godox AD400Pro – why did I wait so long to buy this?I’ve moved to using all Bowens-mount lighting modifiers, and I noticed the AD400Pro accepted Bowens mounts…for those occasions when you need a lot of light on location, it looked like just the ticket – 400 watt-seconds, less than 5 lbs, including the battery, adjustable from my Godox flash controller (so I can use it seamlessly with my AD200s and speedlights).Took it out to shoot some sunset shots in the desert, and it worked great with my Cheetahstand 26” Quick SoupBowl. Plenty of power when the sun was still bright, even from 15-20 feet away, and dialed down as the sun faded. Super fast recycle time! Way better than the old location setup (2 Canon 600 EX-RTs in a Westcott Rapidbox Duo – which is going on eBay this week! ;-))Once the sun went down, I decided to see what it looked like in a studio setting – using the AD400Pro as the key light (with a 42” QSB round softbox), an Eyelighter reflector, and flash as a kicker…worked great. Did I mention the modeling light? Yep, just like my regular moonlights…but having 1/3 stop control from 1/128 to 1/1 power over the light, and having it run for 2 shoots on a single charge (and ready for more), has me thinking of retiring my old moonlight strobes – no more power cords to trip over! Those may end up on ebay soon, too!)So, one light to rule them all for indoor and outdoor shoots? Pretty hard to beat the AD400Pro – get yourself one (or 3 ☺)

Battery issues
The media could not be loaded. This Product has a battery issueIt's great when it works I've only used this light a couple of times the first batteryI just figured I got a defective batterySo I bought a replacement for 150I used that battery one time and now I'm trying to use it again and now it's deadIf you look at most of the negative reviews it has to do with the batteryI wouldn't recommend buying this product especially for the price with this issue$600 plus a new battery each time you use it which cost $150Could have bought a higher quality light for that price

Worth the cost!!
This light, knock it on the park for me. Quick recharge, powerful enough for direct sun shooting, Portability is a piece of cake and the battery holds a Decent charge.

My new go to portable strobe
Lets first off and say this light is pretty amazing. 400w/s of power in a tiny package means it is my go to location key light. It is bright enough to allow me to overpower the sun in most situations, but can be turned down to give soft intimate light as well. One thing I really liked about this light was the mount system. By default it has a reflector and an magnetic mount for future attachments, and included with it is a standard bowens mount to go with all my softboxes and octoboxes. It is light enough to go on my boom stand without needing massive amounts of counterweights as well. But by far my favorite thing about this light is the LED modeling light. I forgot how useful a strong modeling light can be to lock focus at night. The only real con I have about the light is the need to use a screwdriver to switch mounts. I would love a tooless design, but at least its standard allen keys to change it out.All in all, Its an amazing light for the price. It has already earned its spot in my kit.

Light and Powerful - Great Battery Life
I wanted to try the AD system from Godox because of its portability via battery. I was very pleased, so much so that I ordered the AD600, which is a little larger and a bit heavier. I now use both lights in my studio, and may be purchasing another AD600. I also purchased extra batteries in case I have a long shoot, but so far, I've only had to change out the battery once after about 5 hours of continuous shooting. Glad I bought this system.
