Probably the last good WWE game
This game has it all. Good graphics, good sound, a robust career mode, a deep CAW mode, optional control (face buttons or analog grapples), good music, an excellent roster, a plethora of moves, GM mode etc. This is probably the last good WWE game that was released other than SVR 2009 and 2011.Here's my review-Graphics-The graphics are excellent, especially considering how limited the PS2 is in the graphical department. I really enjoy how full of impact each move actually looks. Certainly, while it doesn't touch WWE smackdown Vs Raw (the first game), it certainly isn't a slouch. Each wrestler are highly detailed and the arenas are nice to look at as well. With that said, there are a few gripes I had about this which are minor. Some wrestlers hair textures had clipping issues and although I used component cables, there was absolutely no difference in seeing this game with Component cables and an S-video cable other than it being slightly easier to see and perhaps the color being vibrant. Still, if you played SVR 2006, Or the first SVR game alongside HCTP, you'll notice the resolution is a little lower in this game. Nothing major, but nothing not worth noting. I also have run into slight slowdown at times when the ring is filled, but this is far too rare. Just worth noting.I wasn't exactly crazy about the game's menu layout. I could care less about seeing WWE clips endlessly looping the side of the option selections, but it does change things up a bit. The graphics are actually really good to be honest. Unfortunately, this game has terrible loading time that can be a minute or longer.Sound-The sound is somewhat recycled from SVR2006 only a little different thanks to "money in the bank" and different superstars being introduced to the roster.During career mode, the dialogue is fantastic, almost along the lines of being as good but not quite good as SVR 2006. The slams sound hard, the chair shots sound good and the commentary is good enough though very dull at times.Gameplay-Easily the best aspect of this game would be the gameplay. SVR 2007 introduces a few new game mechanics and the return of weight detection. Much like SVR (the first game), you're able to do certain things before a match such as shove an opponent, lock up or cheap shot etc.You also get a great level of interactivity with the arena such as being able to rip signs from fans, take drinks from fans or hide behind referees etc. In addition to this game being so interactive, this is also the first game to introduce the ultimate grapple control where you can do things such as pull off a delayed vertical suplex and hold your opponent in position for as long as you want provided your stamina is high enough. You can continuously bash an opponent's head against the turnbuckle or steel post provided they don't reverse you.Anyway, there's a big selection of match types and a robust roster which I'll get into now. The roster features-Kurt Angle, Big Show, John Cena, Randy Orton, MVP, John Morrison, Viscera, Carlito, Bobby Lashley, Booker T, Finlay, Undertaker, Triple H, Great Khali, Edge, Chris Benoit, Chris Masters, Boogeyman, Mick foley, Mr. Kennedy, Paul Burchill, Mexicools (Super Crazy and Psicosis), JBL, Joey Mercury, William Regal, Umaga, Vito, Mark Henry, Kid Kash, Lance Cade, Kane, Snitsky, Batista, Chavo Guerrero, Trevor murdock, Gregory Helms, Bam Bam Bigelow, Mr.Perfect, Hulk Hogan, Bret Hart, Tazz, Mankind, Mick Foley, Dude Love, Mr. Perfect, Shane Mcmahon, The Rock, Eddie Guerrero, Cactus Jack, Steve Austin, Lita, Torrie Wilson, Candice Michelle etc.In short, the roster is impressive and probably even more impressive after you play with the CAW mode and expand the roster. The match selection is the usual with Money in the Bank tossed in.Single, Triple Threat, Fatal Four way, royal rumble, buried alive, elimination chamber, Money in the bank, TLC, Hell in a cell, steel cage Fulfill your fantasy, etc.The pacing of this game is really good and you can actually have some pretty good matches against the CPU or with a friend. I really enjoyed the optional control schemes and the game's presentation. Unfortunately, the next game in the SVR series fell short of memorable being that it's the pits. This game is much better on the Xbox 360 and features shorter loading times. The ps2 version holds it's own and I thoroughly enjoyed this game.

Really Great Game!
WWE Smackdown vs. Raw 2007 is a really fantastic Wrestling game! I remember playing the hell out of this game even 2 years after it's original release date I was really disappointed when my game disc was damaged and wouldn't work anymore. Which is why I bought the game again and now that I'm older I take REAL good care of my game discs. This game has loads of replay value something todays Wrestling games seem to lack. it's a real shame the PS3 port of this game got cancelled. There is no doubt this game isn't perfect not by any means but I had to give a 5-Star rating because this game is literally a big part of my childhood and I just love this game. Another thing; I would recommend getting the game brand new - used ones almost always don't work.

Complicated but fun
There are a lot of complicated button combos in this game and it took me and my kids a while to get the hang of things, but once we did, we had a good time with this game. There is a good selection of characters unlocked in the very beginning, so you don't have to be someone unknown to start with and the different match styles and events as well as arenas are fun. This is one of the better wrestling games in my opinion.
