3M Sound Deadening Pads, 08840, 500 mm x 500 mm, 10 per case

Read the consumer reports review that said the gauge of metal sink really didn't make a difference. The sink we bought in the remodel that had the shape/drain we wanted was only available in 16 gauge. So after some looking at reviews from users for different products on Amazon I chose this. What a difference! Simple job to put on, I used a can for template to match the drain basket size cutout, put a slit in one side to the hole and just put it on. It has made a huge difference and eliminated that tinny sound every time something was put in the sink.Dirt cheap and works great, what more can you want.

This is a good product and I didn't have any confusion as to what I was receiving. It came quickly and was as described. It was easy to cut into appropriate size piece for what I wanted and the backing was easy to remove and the product stuck well. BUT - for me, it did not do the job I wanted. I hoped it would provide some sound and vibration deadening for our new, deep, stainless steel kitchen sink. I got it in place easily, but unfortunately, when hot water is used in the sink, the adhesive softens and the sheets fell off and left messy sticky material on several items that had been stored in the cabinet below the sink. Still, I don't these these issues were the fault of this product. I would try it again, if I had other needs that didn't involve a sink that would get pretty hot at times.

Just out of box. Came with damaged corner. One pad. TDG advertises these with very misleading description and unit of measure. The top-line description says “10 per case” and order quantity is one or ten. Based on description this should be one case. I got one sheet. They have a second offering with the same text except “10 per case” is missing, but price the same. They owe me 9 pads, the way I see it.

The advertisement said "a pack of 10" There is only one piece in the box. This was very dishonest advertising. A similar advert on Amazon said one unit at about $2 less.

Small piece. Just for little bare areas, not for whole or big areas. Good adhesive backing for angles. Maybe price will go down in future.

Bridle and cracks easy when cold, so handle with care! Easy to cut (Stanley knife or scissors) and mold with your warm hands into all kind of shapes. I applied a tiny amount of heat with hairdryer on low setting. Works great for floor panels, doors etc. Make sure to position it right the first time because once it sticks (it is self-adhesive) you can not take it off again. Perfect for restoration projects like my vintage Saab 96 (see pictures)

This stuff does work. It's not gonna turn it into a luxury ride, but it does get quieter.

Seriously...I love this stuff! It reduced the sound signature on my new hammered copper sink by more than half...SO easy to cut, mold and the adhesive is terrific. I have worked with a lot of different materials, but this stuff was really a new level of terrific; what a difference in overall final outcome also. Definitely recommend without hesitation.
