Nice Bell, but……
This bell is heavy and appears to be well made. I installed it on a 6”x 8’ round post from Tractor Supply $30. After getting the post and the Upright plumb and level I installed the Yoke and it was off-center. Like others stated the Yoke has extra metal left on one side from the casting causing the bell to lean. I took a 4” grinder to the high side and quickly got it level. A hand file probably would work just as easily. The paint is just a coating and it started rusting after 1st rainfall. But it looks good slightly weathered. I didn’t like seeing the threads from the bolt coming out of the top so I placed a black, aluminum, valve stem cap made by Slime on top and it looks nice. Overall I’m satisfied with this bell and I think you will be too.

A great bell, and easy to fix the dreaded tilt issue. Has "Independence 1776" on base
This is a great bell. I wanted one and the ones made by companies that make the "real deal" are about $600.00.So, this Chinese model looks like an original, cast and looks great. And, it has a design on the bell rim and has "Independence 1776" on the yoke.On receipt, it had the 45 tilt that everyone hates. The problem is two fold and here is the fix.1.) The part of the bell at the top that mates with the yoke is not level. There is about 3 mm too much metal on one side. That keeps it from seating level. No amount of added weight or rotation will fix this. The top is angled. So, take a grinder or a grinding wheel and level it.2.) The arms that go into the stirrups has metal excess from the mold. It keeps the bell from staying level. So, grind the area flat. And, for your added pleasure, do what I did.Buy an eagle flag ornament off ebay for $7JB weld it to the top.Black paint.Done.

Mixed review. Very happy and also frustrating information.
Ive searched all over the internet for this stupid bell and the KEY or main overtone its in. Some say its 13 inches some say 14 some say 14.4 some day 15 some measure by the yoke at 17 but dont say it which all changes EVERYTHING clearly not a single musician is working at this company. This bell FOR MINEs maiin overtone was B. Some F. And many other tones it took a long time to find it. Which means the bell is not a clear single pitch like some organ tubes. It has many other loud pitches in it which i like the wider complex sound. But i had to risk my money and time just to find that out. Which i can only speak for my bell. The bell sits totally as a physical object off center and i will have to modify it. It also DISAPPOINTINGLY cannot hang from the yoke.It cradles the pivots in a "U" cup shape not an "O" shape you put the bells pivots or tines into. I need the bell to hang so its going to take a lot of mods to do and will always be weak since it will want to fall out of the "U" at rest. But if you only us the bell with the post under it im sure it will be great.Perhaps for me personally not as a functioning bell the biggest disappointment is its high tone. Its not a beautiful gong its large but higher pitched kindof disappointing but great for an actual farm, as a farmer the higher pitch can ring farther (being heard) away. I was hoping for a volume of highs and low balances with a single or many tones. This bell has MANY tones but they are all highs and some mids. A metal 1 litre jug from any store will produce a lower more beautiful gong or ring than this bell.Im saying its not very musical unfortunately but in all other ways than hanging.....functionsIts not a fake bell also. It rings and sustains not like many others on the internet.Bolts fit a little janky. And my bell was scraped with paint taken off but its okay. Good price. Very little information. Its either this or a $1,500 bell i dont understand how something so simple is so limited and expensive. Wish i was a millionaire and id make a bell company. Also i personally hate this hat shaped bell shape and wish it was the dome style. More like the bell of a flower, not a strange cup.The witch hat shape would be good for a spooky property but i think bells on posts are tacky and ugly and only look good hanging. Which this bell CANT hang. Remember.I havent rang it hard to anything yet so idk how strong the yoke is ik some people have gotten broke yokes. That means the metal was too hardened since the iron didnt bend first. Iron that bends can be corrected. Iron that snaps is only good for sharp objects or the bell itself. The yoke should have spring to it to be strong which is why its shaped like a tuning fork almost. Or a leaf spring.Hope this helps guys please bump this review if you can bc so little is known about this bell and i was putting off buying it for years.

Exactly what I wanted!
I have been looking for a cast iron farmhouse dinner bell for several months and this is exactly what I wanted! It is made so well and the design is beautiful. It added the perfect farmhouse charm to our property and the sound it makes is incredible! Installation was done within about 3 minutes and came with easy to follow instructions.

Poor Quality At Best
After reading other reviews I wasn't expecting much, but hoping for more. Bought it for our hunting camp. Arrived very promptly, but box had obviously been opened before and re-taped shut. All parts were there but loose inside box, paint was chipped. As others stated bell has large flaw where it looks like the casting mold had been repaired with Bondo leaving a distinct marking on the bell. After attaching the upper arm to the bell, as others stated it hung very crooked. After lots of grinding and filing I got it to hang straight, but then it wouldn't swing freely. More grinding and filing on the swivels and got it to swing smoothly. A couple coats of black Rust-oleum and it looks pretty good, positioned the large flaw in a direction it wouldn't be too noticeable. Took a brass cabinet knob and drilled and tapped it to place on top so it looks finished. It is cheap China crap, and I wouldn't suggest buying it unless you are capable of making these modifications and are not expecting anything too fancy. I haven't installed it yet for the ground is still frozen here, but I think it will work out OK for our camp to call in the crews for dinner.
