SKY CAFE Squirrel Baffle - for Outside Bird House and Feeder Pole - Premium Large 17” Dome - by Arundale Made in USA (Crystal Clear)

Pricey but is the only effective deterrent I’ve found to keep squirrels from jumping onto my seed feeders. It’s also durable - mine have lasted an average of 10 years being outside 365 days a year whereas other squirrel shields have cracked or broken in a year or two. The design is helpful in keeping the feeder and seed from getting wet in the rain.

This is my second baffle. It’s the only one that keeps the squirrels off my bird feeder. It’s expensive but worth it after going through cheaper ones that failed. Would recommend. Just make sure your feeder is high under the baffle touching the top of the baffle or just about touching it so the squirrels can’t tilt it and slide onto the feeder. Then you’ll be fine. My squirrels have given up

Very effective - - watching squirrels try to get around it is very entertaining.But I have a wonderful suggestions on how to assemble the baffle with a lamp shade finial, rubber washer, and hook eye to keep water from leaking onto the bird feeder. My device connects to the chain provided by the manufacturer. See the picture.

Nothing is 100%, but this baffle has been the most successful. I don’t use the chain, only the hook, so the feeders sit up under what I call the witches hat. Birds are not bothered by it. So far so good.

I have literally test run almost all the "squirrel proof" bird feeders on Amazon. Honestly, I have tried and returned so many that Amazon actually sent a message wondering what was up with all the returned purchases. Our main feeder hangs from a 36inch hanger and until I purchased the Arundale Hanging Baffle every single squirrel was able to raid our feeders and scare off all the birds. Whether it was by stretching out over an inferior baffle or shaking the spring mechanized "squirrel proof" feeders like a salt shaker, the squirrels always found a way. This purchase though has finally kept the squirrels at bay, in fact they have entirely given up.I recommend this product because it allows one to use their favorite feeder in conjunction with the baffle, a cylinder, suet, or a small hopper feeder (WBU Dinner Bell for me). In addition, it protects the feeder from serious weather. We had a powerful thunder storm come through with driving hail and rain that ripped the trees to shreds and this baffle took it like a champ, even better the seed was dry in our Dinner Bell feeder!The Arundale Sky Cafe is also a great feeder and if you are trying to decide between it and the Arundale Baffle joined with another feeder, get this baffle and a different feeder. The hanging chain on the Sky Cafe runs through the dome and connects to the inside of the feeder. During storms the water will run down the chain, past the rubber grommet (if the squirrel doesn't chew it off first!), and into the feed, and when filled with 7 pounds of seed, that is a lot of wasted money.With the Arundale Baffle having another feeder below the baffle protects water from dripping into the seed/feed, unless one is using an open tray or suet feeder. Note: the Arundale Baffle does not come with the rubber grommet or the metal washer that is included in the Sky Cafe feeder. Just a chain, two S hooks, and the baffle.Do make sure to measure the feeder you will use with the baffle so that it's a few inches smaller in diameter. Just in case the squirrels get lucky, they will not be able to grab any part of the feeder on the way down to the dirt. Also be sure to hang the feeder below any parallel jumping/launching points (the hanging chain makes this possible), that way when the squirrels leap they hit the baffle instead of the feeder.Great product - more birds than ever before!

This does work well, but the squirrels will try and leap from a branch or tree trunk, and force themselves inside the cone... Frustrating for the squirrel but they will keep trying. If it's suspended far enough away where they can't leap, it's pretty tough for them to get in from above. Expensive, but good!

Of the several bird feeders I have had over many years, this is hands-down my favorite. The people at Arundale are a pleasure to do business with, very supportive. WDBA.

Finally! A solution to my squirrel problem. Having this baffle brings joy to my heart! The squirrels next door are so destructive. No longer at their mercy! Birds get the seed, squirrels can no longer access it!
