Awesome Gift Idea! Amazing Idea Overall!!!
I have to say this is probably one of the most unique ideas for leftover military surplus boxes that I've ever seen. When you purchase this item, you get a used military surplus box that is no longer being used by anyone and I think the company behind it overall is doing a great thing for shipping these out to people who want to use them for gift ideas or whatever the purpose may be. My brother is big into hunting and had been wanting one of these military ammo boxes for a while and he found one online but I told him that it was a subscription service and he said to not worry about it then so I decided this year, to go online and find him a used military surplus box and just fill it with a bunch of his favorite things for Christmas and I came across this box. It is definitely showing signs of wear which is pretty awesome because at least you know that it got put to use while being used by someone in the military. The box that I received had some black spray paint on the side and when I opened it up, it had a really strong smell on the inside as well. It smelled just the Mod Podge craft sealer. I decided to let it air out before I put anything in it for my brother for Christmas but overall, this is a really great box and I feel really good knowing that it came from someone who had used it before and that I now have it and I'm using it for a purpose and I know that my brother will use it for a bunch of his ammo shells or anything that has to do with hunting. I did use my cricut maker to add his name on it and throw some cool deer antlers with guns on the side for him. I think it looks great!

Robust US GI Issue Box - Mine Came in Excellent Condition
These are the robust metal ammo boxes seen in every movie featuring the US military since WW II and familiar to all US (and quite a few foreign) veterans. They're water tight, strong, and this particular type, a .50 caliber machine gun ammo can, roomy. They're great storing tools, hobby supplies, emergency items, valuables (if you weld a lock hasp on) and of course ammunition. There are websites and videos with info on how to use these for multiple civilian applications. A bit of spray paint can spruce it up if you find them too scratched or don't like the olive drab or light green with yellow lettering. If you don't drive a truck over it it'll last a life time.Ammunition stored in these and kept in a cool, dry environment will last multiple decades. After WW II the US boxed .50 caliber bullets it made for the war in them and stored them in old mines. We've been "mining" them to use in Iraq and Afghanistan until just recently. I don't recommend storing food in them until you wash them thoroughly. Insecticide and/or rat poison are commonly added to the inside to keep the critters away.In my case the box arrived looking BETTER than the one pictured. It looks like it just rolled off the assembly line. I'd bought another from a store for almost twice the money that didn't look as nice. I know how companies tend to get these, (Defense Logistics Agency Disposition Services which used to be Defense Reutilization Marketing Office) so your experience may vary. But I'm guessing the worst you'll get is one that's just scratched or scuffed unless the postal service drops an anvil on it.

Awesome Products!
These are authentic reused cans and are great for storing ammo! Only thing I suggest doing is washing them out when you get them because they smell pretty bad but other than that I Highly Recommend!

Perfect. Just what I wanted.
These are perfect. I do find some of these reviews a bit funny though...first, they are used...some are not going to say "50BMG". They are surplus, meaning they are used...maybe a new coat of paint, but used, and depending on where they are from, may have some writing on them. We used to write "MT" when they were empty, and then we literally chucked them so they may have dents. If the stencil is sprayed over, they most likely had something else in them, and we didnt want to confuse them with live rounds. Also, they are not a bomb if you have a fire. The rounds will cook off, but the fire department is more worried about gas lines and propane tanks than these. The seal will melt before the fire cooks the rounds and they will just vent off. Now if you put 50000 loose primers in there, that might cause some fireworks! To conclude, it's a nice ammo box, has a nice rubber seal, and because its surplus, has some charm and character.

Excellent Made in USA Gear
Very pleased, authentic US Military surplus ammo can arrived without dents or rust, some scratches on the OD army green paint, but, that's expected of course, after all these heavy duty ammo containers were handled by our best men and women. I rec'd a 5.56MM not a 50 cal, but, that's OK, all my civilian ammo; 12 gauge bird and small game shells, 12 gauge sabot deer slugs, 12 gauge 00 buckshot, 30-30 rifle cartridges, .22LR bullets and .22 bird shot all consolidated nicely in one weatherproof steel box. Rubber lid seal was in excellent condition too. Thank you Ozark Outdoors for your excellent service.
