Good sambal paste
The sambal is like a paste, not spicy(for me) but enough heat to make stir-fry spicy shrimp or any stir-fry. I use it to make fried noodle. There is umami flavour from dried shrimp but not strong at all. Great sambal option.

Don't over pay!
Product is good and quite authentic in that it does have a sting to it which is good as far as I am concerned. There are a few Sambal sauces around at the moment and most are tamed down to appeal to a Western market ... and lose their authenticity. This one isn't!I use it as a sauce base rather than an all in one packet mix - so my personal recipe is to blend some shallot and garlic with some Belacan ( or Shrimp Paste/Kapi/Terasi depending on what country it's from!) into a paste ... fry that a little then add the Tean mix. Add some prawns and some petai if you can get it and you have a pretty good Sambal.Be careful you don't pay over the odds ... seems to vary in price on Amazon from Ā£5+ to Ā£2.Ā£1.90 in my local Asian Supermarket now that they stock it.

Easy to cook .. just follow the instructions. No need to add anything else. I use it on chickens. Yummy !
