Great Setup - Just get this and be done with it.
Just get this and be done with it. I wish I would have purchased this long ago. This is exactly what I needed. I recently upgraded my theater system but unfortunately the new one doesn't have a switched power outlet like my old one did to power my cabinet fans. I purchased the AC infinity Airplate T3 and paired it and the single fan that came with it along with the AC Infinity MULTIFAN S7, Quiet Dual 120mm USB Fans that I already had and it was a perfect setup. The controller has two outputs and the AC infinity fans are also link-able. I love how quiet they are. I was initially concerned that they wouldn't move enough air as compared to my old setup which was quite noisy but moved a lot of air. Being able to monitor the cabinet temp has set my mind at ease. This system performs exceptionally well even under a "stress" test I gave it with all equipment powered on and the sound at high volume. I love the fact the fans ramp up and down as needed and don't run full speed unless temp exceeds the set limit.I also adapted filters to these fans and switched to a positive pressure environment rather than exhausting the heat to keep dust out of the cabinet and electronics. This is a true test, as pushing air out of a cabinet isn't as efficient as exhausting heat, but it works flawlessly and an IR thermometer confirms temps are accurate and this system keeps up just fine. I hope this keeps my cabinet clean vs the other method which drew in tons of dust.I'm rating this at 5 stars initially. If there are longevity or quality issues I'll revisit this review. However, I don't expect to see any issues as this appears to be a quality system.

Legitimate quality and design
Sometimes I wonder if so many gushing reviews are the result of some strange campaign to inflate sales, but based on what I received, they're real reviews. I'm a real person, and there was nothing in the package soliciting reviews, or anything of that nature. This product is kind of like the Apple Computer version of environmental controls.Like opening a new MacBook, opening this package is a delight. Everything is well protected, placement is well thought out, and attention to preventing shipping damage was given. This isn't just a bunch of components tossed into a box.Installation was messy, but my cabinet is particle board so I expected it. But where this shines is the included templates. We've all installed things from included templates – you know, those paper things we need to cut out and tape, and hope that we've smoothed them enough to accurate transfer to the wall or cabinet or whatever. Nope! Not here. Instead, we get awesome die-cut templates made of thick plastic that are easy to tape to the cabinet for transferring. All templates for all template-having products should have templates like these. And speaking of messy installation, the flanges on the fans and control are large enough to hide any non-perfect cuts performed as a result of cutting the openings in place in your living room instead of being able to take your huge cabinet to your workshop for perfect cuts.I've got two fans installed, one to suck in and the other to blow out. With no noise in the room, I can barely hear them operating from our viewing position. When watching literally anything on the TV, I can't detect them at all.The control works nearly perfectly for my needs, although I've not setup the alarm functionality. The control is my one, minor quibble though: there's no way to control the amount hysteresis. I have cooling setup for 30°C, and sure enough, the fans come on at 30°. As soon as the probe indicates 28°, though, the fans switch off. It doesn't take long for the temperature to increase back to 30°, though, so the fans kick on, then turn off, then come back on, which is annoying, power hungry, and potentially increase wear. Because the fans are so quiet you're not likely to know it's happening; it just bothers me knowing that it's happening, but not enough to deduct any stars.

Good Construction, Outstanding Service
I bought this fan/thermostat combo to cool a cabinet with some electronics. The materials are of good quality and craftsmanship (solid metal plate, exceptional paint job, large, quiet fan, screen protector) and has nice accessories (plastic templates that make mounting both the fan and the thermostat a snap, all the bolts and nuts you'll, nice printed manual).I did run into a few issues however. First the fan I received was set as an intake fan and I (like I would suppose the majority of users) wanted it to be an exhaust fan. Happily I checked this BEFORE installation, so I didn't have to uninstall everything to switch the fan. There's no electronic way to switch the fan direction, instead I had remove the faceplace and the back grill and swap them, which has the effect of reversing the fan. No big deal but I had to research how to do this and the whole switcheroo cost about 15 minutes of my time. The second issue I found was after installation, the fan would make loud clicky noises at both low and medium speeds. So oddly the fan was louder at the slower fan speeds. I did a quick video and email it to AC Infinity's support and they got back immediately and confirmed that the thermostat was defective and shipped a new one that day. Really, really outstanding service. I received the replacement thermostat a few days later, swapped it in, and everything worked great. The thermostat has four modes to choose from: On, Off, and two smart modes with change the fan speed based on the temperature. A single fan is keeping my cabinet cool, but I could daisy chain on more fans in the future if necessary. That's a nice option.Overall, I highly recommend this!
