Mag-Torch MT780 Butane Gas Micro Torch Soldering Kit

It sputtered a few times and then wouldn't fire. It's really a gimmick design. All the plastic switches are hard to use cheap design. Sent it back.The one to get is the Blazer GB4001. It has aluminum body and metal thumbwheel. It is the same price too.I was looking forward to using this little torch for a project I have daisy-chaining some batteries for a scooter. I could never solder anything until I bought a Weller Butane solderer, but it is too small for a job like that. The electric ones were a pain to use and dangerous even for the user. I may update this review if I find any problems but I don't expect any from the other reviews.

Easier to light than some I have owned and does not leak out fuel left in torch between uses and storage.

It worked great up until about the 5th time I used it, after that it flames up with a bright orange flame.

Perfect for soldering model plane landing gears etc. So much easier than using bulky propane torches for small jobs. Works flawlessly. Wish I had this years ago. This is the first tool that I've this excited about in years. Bought it from Amazon and got free shipping too. Wonderful.

I have had other mini-torches, and this one is a pleasure to use! I had no problem with the child-protective switch, unlike some of the other reviewers . I was using the torch within 10 minutes of unpacking it. It is simple and quick to use. I don't know what others were using it for, but I was using it for fusing and soldering silver. I make jewelry, and it's perfect for my needs.

If you have the need for a micro torch- you can't go wrong with this unit. It puts out some intense heat! You can read the features and specifications yourself. I will tell you that it a nice little unit and works well.
