Great Walking Stick (For Its Price)
I'm 5' 2", and this works great for me! I've also seen reviews for people as tall as 5'7" saying it was great for them! The carving is not worth an extra $3, but I don't really mind, since the stick itself is so great! It's not straight and uniform -- it's knobby and cool looking, but not bent, so it still provides good support. Only had it about 2 hours, but rope wrapping has not unraveled as of yet. Ice pick is in good shape. Rubber is fine (it has rings on it for non-slip). The handle is waay too big for my wrist, so I just ignore it, but might be useful for some people! :D I recommend this product if you are looking for something for hiking or just support on walks. Lemme get a little more specific, in case you're curious...Carving: 3/5 starsI got an eagle carving, which added an extra $3 to my purchase. if it had been, say, 50 cents, it would be great, but simple and not worth $3. Fine looking, though -- not ugly.Support/Stability: 4.5 starsThe knobbiness makes it a little more tilty, but this is such a small, minute difference that I still think it earns 4.5 stars. Not something to worry about, unless you're, say, a professional hiker. For it's price, absolutely great.Rope Wrapping: 5 starsThe wrapping is fine. I heard some people say theirs came off, but as for me, mine is fine. It's comfortable to hold (doesn't rub on your hands.) I really like it.Overall Looks: 5 starsSuch an attractive stick! Absolutely love the look!Ice Pick: 4.5 starsWould give 5 stars, but I don't know too much about ice picks, and I'm sure because of the price it wasn't too good quality. Anyways, looks fine to me! A bit off-center, which is worrying, since ice is slippery... if you were on ice, could be dangerous possibly? Once again, such a minute detail it can't bring it down much. Most people probably wouldn't notice.OVERALL: 5 STARS! For its price, awesome!

Nice walking stickit
It is a Christmas gift. Nice and straight. Comfortable looking and feeling handle. Like the idea can use tip cal or pointed end for walking depending on conditions. Carving of eagle is acceptable. Weight is light to carry. Hopes he likes it.

Good quality. Works good on the ice and snow.

Great Walking Stick
I like it because it is the perfect size and height and the stick itself is geat looking and very reasonably priced, the only thing keeping me from loving it is the rope wrapping came undone the first time I used it but a little hot glue and it is better than new.If I needed another walking stick I would buy this one again.

Less pain on broken vertabrae than standard cane, with other benefits
Stick: About height of my chin (am 5'1").Hand grip: Definitely easier to hold and keep hand in same position for a more consistent pull/push on muscles. My old stick bought elsewhere had to be held on the wood, and my hand changed position with every step because of the slight change in friction, despite its wrist strap. Also, the old stick one was not as highly-polished wood like this one, yet my hand still slipped.Strap: The leather-and-synthetic mixed wrist strap size is wonderful. He is 6'4" (76") with big hand; strap touches him just below the bottom thumb joint; touches me halfway between that joint and the wrist. Besides benefit of not dropping the stick, this strap provides good feedback to know I put my hand in the same place on the grip for my own consistent pace. My old stick's strap was so loose that it laid 'anywhere' from/to above the wrist, on it, or below it. This stick's strap stays in place well. This strap is Strong, as I cannot pull it to stretch it, but I did not want him to try that because he is very strong and I didn't want to damage it while testing it.Impact on back with broken vertabrae:The stick's Height relieves my back better than Any Standard cane promoted by the medical industry. Having upraised arm while walking actually pulls my back muscles Upward, very different than any therapy, exercise, standard cane, or natural motion, which pull downward (or maybe sideways if you're lucky). A long walk for me is from parking lot, into and around a huge auditorium, and back to car. With the stick, I am very tired overall, but my back is not aching or needing painkiller; I am not wincing in pain or having labored breathing from exhausted back muscles. Works well with and without a back brace on.

Great walking stick
I got this for my 92-year-old neighbor who lost his. He loved it... especially the curled rope around the are to hold it while walking.

****************IMPORTANT UPDATE a few days upon my initial review.People from Outdoor Supply Inc. checked w. me about my complaints, and replaced the defect product w new, good one.New walking stick was received quick, it looks / feels good, and I recommend this product. One should order this walking stick w the confidence that if anything goes wrong w the quality, people from Outdoor Supply Inc. do care, and will take efforts do transaction right.Impressed w your work and efforts. Many thanks.5 stars for the new walking stick!!!!!!!****************1 star means I hate it!!Outdoor Supply Inc. Natural Wood Walking Stick with Grizzly Bear Carving what I received is dangerous object. Its looking nice, and would serve well IF finish fabrication was done properly. THE STICK IS FULL OF SPLINTERS!!!I got hurt bad 4 times while opening the package, thanks God I opened the package instead of the person the stick was ordered for as a present. So, 4 times I had to use a needle and a powerful magnifying glass/loupe to get rid of the splinters stuck in my fingers.Stick looks nice, I like it, but before any handling, one should refinish 100% of the stick, sand it well, GET RID OF ALL SPLINTERS, and then put a few new coats of lacquer. In the form as Outdoor Supply Inc. delivered this stick to me, it is DANGEROUS OBJECT, TOTAL JUNK - DO NOT TOUCH, DO NOT HANDLE.Even better DO NOT ORDER if you dont want to get hurt real bad!!
