The buttons and sizing is correct and fit in standard holes but the buttons themselves are to small. But the LED is great and doesn’t require anything extra and the wiring is easy to do nothing obtuse.

I purchased my first set. One of the joysticks had issues (the directions were off (lower left was actually left, etc.) and one button was sticking. Easy return with amazon. Ordered second set. Everything checked out fine on that set.Used it to make my first console controller (see photos). Meshed some 3/4" PVC board together, with the center piece hollowed out for the bottom half of the buttons, USB encoder, and wires. Everything is easy to connect. Plug and play into a PC! PC sees it as a game controller. From there, it's just a matter of mapping the buttons within MAME configuration.The only thing that bothers me the most with this set is the joystick clicking. Everything movement in the joystick, there's a click. So I"m playing Pac Man, and click click click.....OMG! My wife was trying to read and ended up leaving the room, it was so annoying. That's why this gets a 4 and not a 5.

Bought this kit to go with the MicroCenter DIY Arcade cabinet. With the plexiglass over the control panel, the buttons were too short for the lock nut to tighten, so I had to route (luckily my buddy has a wood router) the panel button holes down to get the buttons to lock down. Wiring was a easy as it can get. My Pc (Windows 10) recognized the encoders immediately as generic joysticks/joy pads. Once in my gaming frontend, I was able to map the buttons easily. The lights look good. Buttons are responsive. Joysticks say Sanwa on the restriction plates. Very loose and responsive for fighting games. So far, I like this kit.UPDATE: One of the buttons still lights up, but is unresponsive.

If you're unfamiliar or new to the arcade hobby this set up works well. Easy to understand, even for a newbie like me. Just make sure you get the button depth accurate to fit your set up.

When the joystick cover is tightened with a vice grip holding the prong I have had no problems with the grips slipping off. I did have a problem with the coin button. First day coin button completely seized on me and I had to use the back-up green button. Hard on amazon to contact seller to get a replacement without returning the whole kit so I just kept it.

I ordered this kit to round out my retropi arcade, and was really impressed with the “plug and play” concept. Great value for the money. Easy to install. After extensive testing and working through setting everything up, I noticed today that the buttons return action after pressing is starting to make the button stick.I’m starting to question the quality of material and how durable the buttons will be.

I’m a geek, but this kit is totally plug and play. Comes with two controllers rather than a one dual, so you can use it to make two separate panels if you want(as I did). Buttons look nice, but could have more feel. Joysticks are nice though. My kit came with actual sanwa joysticks so that was a cool surprise. And since I’m only doing 6 button plus coin+player so I’ll have a few left over for spare or another project.

Very easy to install. Simple instructions plug in and ready to play. Though the buttons aren’t very long depending on how deep the holes are in your cabinet may cause an issue. I got my to work by screwing the tightening caps backwards. Sounds odd right? But it works hahah. Anyways love this product. I ordered 2 more sets as spares. And the LED buttons light up making the classic arcade look feel genuine.
