We've had one of these beds for at least five years. The pad is flattened out a little but it is still going strong. This year we have been keeping the thermostat turned down to 65 during winter so everyone was fighting over who gets to sleep in the heated bed. We bought three more beds in January so now everyone has their own warm bed. We have two long-hired chihuahua that prefer to sleep in small calming beds but these heated beds are winners with our one short-haired dog and three cats. They are well made and the color is nice. I've only washed one of them. It was a little difficult getting the foam stuffed back into the cover but it can be done and the fabric washed nicely. I highly recommend these beds to keep your fur babies warm and comfortable.

These are quality, and cats and dogs love this bed. It cuddles, warms, and soothes, especially senior or cold sensitive animals. True to KH's promise, this bed does not "over warm" and is the safe alternative to human heating pads which can injure pets. Although they wash very well, they are a bit difficult to reassemble, but then I'm a klutz. After purchasing four KH pet beds, I would not hesitate to buy them again. Many paws up!ADDENDUM: I purchased the medium sized bed for my 15 year old cat, and he loved it, but the fluffy padding between the heating pad separated, and the bed became too hot for him and beneath the bed itself. It is not comfortable. I had to buy a 1/2" thick foam pad to place on top and cover that with a light blanket to make it acceptable. KH makes super cat beds and cat warming pads which are well padded and comfortable. This is a real disappointment that their quality has apparently declined.

Entirely worth the price — it has an internal thermostat meaning it can just be left plugged in all the time, and only heats up with weight on the pad. It takes a few minutes to heat up, and you want something heavier than the pillow suggested in the instructions— I just sat in it, or you could put your feet in it while sitting in a chair. Abbie was miffed that she only got this for Christmas until we led her back into it once it’d warmed up — then she spent the rest of the day there. She’s 11 and we live in New England, and I’d noticed she’d been cuddlier and seeming a bit cold. Currently, since it’s summer and hot as blazes, she uses it at night or puts her favorite toys in it. 100% worth the money. She’s a 50lb Standard Poodle and the size is perfect.

The pet bed is warmer than my dog's older bed, and he has slowly taken to it as I scoop him up after he has snuck into my bed and place him there. It feels safe to keep plugged in since it only heats up when the dog is on it and not too much. I did buy the medium-sized bed even though my chihuahua mix is small. He would still rather be on my bed, but I feel confident he's warm and cozy and we will both sleep better!

My dogs loved my original so much I bought a second one. It's awesome for small to medium dogs. It stays on 24/7 and no issues. I've had the first one 4 years.

The heating works well, however the bed is quite small and the bottom is slippery causing it to easily move around. I don't recommend it if you have a medium size pet

I got this for my older dog that has arthritis. She loved it. It is good quality and comfy. Just plug it in for the day and I laid a very thing doggie blanket over it and sometime during the day our doggies would all use it, and all liked it for the winter months. We did buy another puppy, and had to put it away until he gets through the chewing stage, but will bring it back out in the winter. Wonderful bed though.

I specifically bought this bed for my older dog. I was searching for a soft and heated bed for some weeks when I came across this bed from K&H. I read the reviews and went ahead with my purchase. My dog is a Chihuahua Terrier mix and normally, she likes to sleep in my bed. However, when I'm not home, I want her to sleep in her own bed where she is comfortable. I've had this dog bed for a few months and am content with my purchase.The heating pad in the bed heats up by plugging the cord into an outlet. It takes about 30 min for the pad to warm up. The first time I heated it up and encouraged my dog to try out the bed, she did not want to leave. She loved the warmth so much. When it's not plugged in, she still loves the bed. I think the second best thing about this bed is that it's lined on all sides. When the bed is not plugged in and the wooden floors are cold, my dog doesn't feel the cold at all.I once forgot to unplug the heating pad for a few hours, but it never burned through. Some other heated beds burn easily, but this one surprisingly does not. I recommend keeping an eye on the bed when it's plugged in, especially when you care about the well-being of your dog. In my case, my dog did not mind the warmth and didn't want to be disturbed when it was warm. I hope this heated dog bed lasts because I don't want to buy one every 5 months. I will update this review in a few months if anything happens. Overall, I am extremely happy with this purchase.

Wonderful size for my beagle, sides are firm so holds shape, but still soft. Thick padding so don’t feel wires or heating pad, and love everything is removable and washable. Will be taking this in the RV when we go travelling as Lady, (my beagle), won’t leave home without it! Lol.

Excelente producto, los materiales son de primera calidad y la forma en que está hecha es muy funcional ,ya que se desmontan las fundas tanto de la base, cómo del cojín para lavarse. También quiero comentar ,que pensé que iba a ser muy grande la cama, pero nó ,le quedó perfecta a mi perrito cocker que pesa aproximadamente 10 Kg, de hecho yo diría que está tamaño de cama, a pesar de ser tamaño large, es para perritos de máximo 15kg de peso.

Buen material pero el cojín es muy delgado, tuve que agregarle una almohada a mi perro, y es muy pequeña para considerarse tamaño grande.

Our 10 year old Siamese cat climbed into this bed as soon as we put it down and wouldn't even come out for supper that night. Since then, she is seldom out of this bed. Now we unplug it during the day to encourage her to come out for a little activity. It would have to be a very small dog to fit in this bed as our cat just fits. I bought the K&H small 14" X 18" heated cat bed a month early, which she loved but could only fit half of her body on it at once. I moved that out to our feral cat shelter for the winter (getting good use there!). Excellent product but I would recommend no less than the medium size dog Thermo Oval Sleeper for a large cat (15 lbs) so it can stretch out.

I don't know-this thing was made in China from who knows what and weighs next to nothing so I have no idea why it costs $120. The pillow that my beloved pet lays on packed down almost immediately and she seems to need to fuss around more than usual to avoid laying between the pillow and the base. I've got a K+M mat for another pet and they both seem to run a bit cooler than you'd expect but I guess you don't need your pet cooking to death. Had I known this is what I'd be getting I probably wouldn't have dropped $120 on it.
