Good quality product
I have a new TV, and needed an optical connection to my existing soundbar. The new TV came with a single combined 3.5mm optical in (centre speaker) and out. The TV did come with an adaptor, but plugging in the optical cable via this did not feel secure. Thus, this convertor cable with Toslink to mini-toslink was ideal, and I can you is perfect for me and my Bravia 7. Mine is the 5m one so I could thread it through conduit. Buy with confidence.

The collar around the jack plug
I have yet to know if this product works. It connected at the TV end and I can see a small light at the jack end but because it's collar is fat, it will not fit the aux on the speaker. So I recommend if the aux position is confined around it's entry point don't buy this product. I am currently looking for a slim adapter now to make this product hopefully work.

What have I been missing
I bought a hi-res dap to play my lossless files, with it came a optical cable which I used to connect to my active speakers. Reading a few reviews about cables they wrote there wasn't any difference between optical cables as they all transmit a digital signal... How wrong are they! As soon as I connected the new cable I was greeted with a new found competence, better sound staging and clarity and more dynamics. Thank you EMK.

I'm sure it works , but not for me. I dont get all the special types of lead for optical leads.

Got just what I ordered and needed
Just what a needed to connect sound bar to tv came as described. ..shame it doesn't work through freeview but ok on digital settings

maybe I got a duff one but, having plugged it in, when I came to unplug it the cover jumped it's threads and I was left with the uncovered cable still in the socketreturned for refund - I'll try I different make...
