Such a fun set, keeps my 3-yr old grandson interested for a while
Ever since we saw these at the Houston Children's museum, I've been looking everywhere for multiple sets. These are the ticket! Colorful, sturdy, and inexpensive. I happen to have a 10 x 15 cookie sheet (perfect because the squared area it is a multiple of 5). We use all 6 sets together and take turns placing the different pieces until we manage to fill the entire cookie sheet! My 3-yr old grandson wants to dump them out and do it again and again! These are also great for using with the Pentonimo Puzzles book by Eric Harshbarger. Up to 6 people may have his/her own set to work with.

Description is confusing, product is great, price is awesome
Pentominoes are not easy to find online! I thought there would be more to choose from, and this set looked perfect at a great price, but the description was unclear. Even on the Learning Resources website, it was confusing, and when I called the hotline, the operator couldn't clear it up for me. The description makes it sound like each set of pentominoes has 6 different colored pieces... so there would be twelve sets in a bucket of 72. I took the chance, though, hoping they just weren't being clear, and it was a good risk. The bucket contains 6 sets of 12 pentominoes each, and each set is in a different color. The pieces are hard plastic, scored, and each square on the pieces is 1 square inch. If your kids have read any books by Blue Balliett, they will be terribly excited to get these, as mine were, and they are a great brain workout.

Great product but......
I bought these to use with my classes for a brain break activity. They enjoy playing with them, except 2 color sets were each missing a piece, so there were only 11 pieces in each of those 2 sets. I had a similar issue with my tangrams from this same company.

Good problem-solving activity
My kids like to make a design with the shapes, then trace it, then take turns trying to get pieces to fit back in the outline. It’s a great problem- solving activity and makes them use their brains.

Pentominoes - A Sleeper Hit!
During a recent trip to the Boston Children's Museum, my 5-year-old discovered a set of these in the science area; my husband quite literally had to pick him up and carry him away at closing time. Surprisingly, these suckers are not easy to find - literally the only retailer, online or off, is Amazon. I even called my mom - a veteran kindergarten teacher - and her only other suggestion was a teacher supply store. So I ordered these, figuring I could give the extra sets away if it proved too much.As it turns out, each "set" only contains 12 blocks (O-Z), for a total of 72 pentominoes - perfect for sharing with a friend or two, or for siblings, or even for one kid who really loves pentominoes! Each set of 12 is a different color - red, orange, yellow, green, blue and purple - which would be great for use in classrooms. Unlike the photo (which is a tad deceiving by way of volume), these come in a smaller, round container. Each set is individually wrapped by color, although we just unwrapped them all and stuck everything back in the container. They're plastic, but pretty sturdy, and I think they'd withstand typical grade-school-age (ab)use. Best of all, they're quiet, they're fun, they're easy to clean up and my son loves to play with them!

Too difficult.
These are maybe great for an older child, but there are no instruction nor diagrams to follow. I thought these would be fun for a Nursery school quiet activity, but you need a frame or tray to use properly and that's not provided. It could be a fun puzzle if there were patterns printed to follow but nothing comes with these pieces.

A lot of pentominoes for the classroom
Good quality, enough for my entire classroom. You just need to find worksheets to use with the pentominoes.
