Provided support and adjustments needed
High School Girls Varsity Volleyball player. Starting setter. Rolled ankle first pre-season game . Ortho Dr. classified as severe. 6 -8 weeks then review. During healing period researched supports and zeroed in on ASO Speed lacer. I did talk to Dr. (Dr. cleared her to play AS LONG AS SUPPORT WAS USED) about taping along with ASO support and Dr. said the support was probably good enough. Taped anyway (lightly) and used support. Its been 3 weeks and 18 + games and plays start to finish (about 1.5 hrs per event). Eased in first few games. Using the ASO Speed Lacer Support takes about a minute to get on and adjusted. Fits in shoe and can be adjusted as necessary during time-outs etc. Still icing for 15-20 minutes after event (while doing homework). Also wears during school hours. Not taking chances until fully healed. We would very much recommend the ASO Speed Lacer for walking - active participation. This is where the ease of adjusting comes in.

NOT A "SPEED LACER!"
This is not the Speed Lacer version of this brace, this one you painstakingly lace up like a pair of riding boots. Yes, this is a very good brace, but the speed lacer has 2 small velcro tabs that connect to 4 laces each so you DON'T HAVE TO take so long to thread each eye hole to lace up the whole brace. The attached photos are the real "Speed Lacer." The one I got was not. The extra added Amazon Fulfillment UPC barcode sticker on the box WAS WRONG! What's really too bad is that this is a non-returnable item (probably because of hygiene) even though they issued me a full refund. Unfortunately the company loses the sale, and they can't resell the item, unlike an ugly sweater or a toaster.

Is NOT returnable….
Make sure you order the right size. I went with the medium because the size chart shows 2 different sizes between men’s and women’s shoe sizes. I wear a 10 1/2 in women’s (or a 9 in mens), so Medium according to the chart, wait, a Small according to the chart (men’s 9). I measured and it was right at 12”, so I went with the Medium. Bad choice, way too big. Bye, bye $44.It seemed like it would be comfy if it fit right. My only other concern was that the bottom of the tongue is unfinished and send like it would come apart after some use.

Great for basketball players.
I play basketball, and don't wear really expensive basketball shoes, hence I need something to help prevent possible ankle sprains. I looked at a lot of athletic ankle braces on Amazon, and this one seems to be one of the best. It uses laces, but they're attached in groups to strips of velcro, so it's essentially has the speed of wrapping up from a 2-velcro brace but with the strength of a laced brace. It at first feels pretty thick on each foot, but once you put your foot into your shoe and lace up your shoes, it almost feels like it's not really there; very comfortable. It also fits into your shoe somewhat easily (although you may need to loosen your shoe's laces a little bit more). Plus, it's made in the USA if any of you are into that type of thing. If you don't know your size, I suggest you use a measuring tape and go to Medspec's website to properly measure your ankle for this brace; it will show a diagram of exactly how to measure your foot. I used a measuring tape and just barely got into the bottom threshold for medium-sized, and it not only fits my foot, but also my shoes.

Good for sprains or ankle stability.
I was recovering from an ankle injury (torn ligaments and contusions) and the doc said to get this brace. The only reason it’s not a 5 star is because the picture and description are misleading. The ends of the strings are not velcro so it’s just like tying a regular shoe. But it keeps the ankle stable. Easy to tighten. I recommend tying a knot at the ends so when you untie you don’t have to relace every time.

Ankle brace
With the Velcro lace up made it so much easier to get on and off. I had the regular lace ups type it was such a pain to get on and to get laced to feel right This one just pull the Velcro to right tightness and ready to go
