Completely neutral flavor, good gelling
Needed a non bovine source of gelatin and tried this. Was worried it would be fishy but it is totally neutral in scent and flavor. I put it in my coffee each morning. Gives it a nice smooth mouth feel as well as imparting nutrition! Do let it bloom in a little cold water for a few minutes (before adding hot water to it ) to make it melt and blend faster. Putting it straight into hot water took a lot of time stirring and I’m not sure all the grains ever did melt. Gels great when used for that purpose, as well. Again, no fishy taste or smell at all. Have rebought it and like it enough to consider subscribing.

It’s as advertised and it’s a wonderful replacement to porc gelatine. It works great. I used it in a cream base dessert and the mouth feel was great. Thanks a lot for this product. wanted a gelatine that’s 200 bloom and not made with porc, this is the best alternative. I use a less quantity coze it’s 250 blooms so if recipe calls for 4 grams of 200 bloom use 3 grams . And in addition, it’s kocher

It’s better to pay for quality
I used this gelatin to make a mousse entremet. No smell, no taste, perfect. Very easy to work with. It helped me make a beautiful mousse. It may have cost more than some other options, but most of time you get what you pay for. I would highly recommend this gelatin. I also purchased the agar-agar but haven’t used it yet.

great product, with strong smell
I got this bc I am currently pregnant, and my dr mention I do not need college supplements, so I want adding some college to my daliy food, the smell seems a little bit strong to me, maybe bc I am pregane

Bigger bag would be better
The product is good. Just for a big production in pastry industry, it would be great to have bigger container/bag.

Great option for those who can't have pork/beef gelatin
Have used it in numerous recipes including marshmallows, fruit snacks as an egg replacement in baking- been great so far! I would give it 5 stars but I don't like that it's from farmed tilapia- would be nice if they had a non-farmed option. I can't eat beef or pork and have not been a fan of agar agar so minus the farmed issue it's been a great alternative.The only thing I did find it is much more likely to result in a lumpy texture than traditional knox gelatin if not bloomed properly. I've yet to be able to simply bloom in cold liquid for a few minutes then add directly to hot liquid without still getting lumps. Instead I found it best to bloom a few minutes in the cold liquid, then place that container in a bath of hot water and stir until all the gelatin dissolves. THEN add to your hot liquid. This method has worked every time with perfect results.
