Great range, needs better adhesive and more customization
Great range from the base station. My mailbox is over 500 feet away and the signal has to deal with my brick house. (It probably goes through a window but still...). My Wi-Fi doesn't reach the mailbox but the base station connects to the mailbox alarm with no problem. The unit consists of two parts. There's the sensor itself which detects light and houses a battery, and that clips on to a mounting bracket that you put on the inside of the door of your standard curb line mailbox. The mounting bracket is attached to the door with a peel and stick adhesive. Unfortunately that adhesive will not hold up to very hot temperatures particularly if your mailbox is in the sun. The temperature went above 90 and I started getting false alarms because the detector was sliding around and detecting subtle changes in light. This isn't hard to fix; you just need and adhesive that can withstand high temperatures. I reattached the mounting bracket with silicone sealant design for fireplace components. Definitely overkill but it was a cheap fix and it got the job done. I'm not sure if that sealant is designed to stand up to winter temperatures but I guess I'll find out in a few months. The bottom line is that you're going to have to think about how you attach the mounting bracket in your climate. The X-Sense app is good in the sense that it's easy to understand and it works. A lot of apps for these types of gizmos are terrible but overall I'm impressed with X-Sense. But it doesn't have much in the way of customization. And that means that whenever the mailbox is opened the alarm goes off. So you're triggering your own alarm every time you open the mailbox to get the mail. There should be a setting that allows the alarm to be triggered only once a day, or mutes it for a while after it initially goes off, or turns it off completely at certain times of day.But overall it works, and the one inconvenience that threatened its usefulness was solved with a higher quality adhesive.

Top Quality Sensor with great range
Wow! I didn’t know what to expect since my mailbox is far from the house but it works great! Let’s me know everyday when the mail runs and saves me a lot of running to the mailbox to check! Great quality product, highly recommend!

Don't buy alone!
Thought it would work the way it was but you can't even register it without the base so WHY BUY IT AT ALL???? 😞🤬🤬🤬

Great range!
I figured there was no way this would work in my situation. My mailbox is approximately 1,000 feet from my home, I live in a steel building, have several trees in between and the mailbox is across the road so the mail delivery vehicle blocks the sensor path to my home when mail is delivered.I installed my base station near a window, Installation was easy, the unit tested good but I figured no way it would work with the delivery vehicle parked in front but it’s been working flawlessly for the past 2 weeks!

Works great, except in high winds
The only issue that I have with it, is that the notification/base alarm go off CONSTANTLY when the wind is blowing hard, even though the mailbox lid is closed. And by hard, I mean that we have a lot of 25-35mph winds with 45-50mph gusts here and that sets it off about every 2 minutes during times when the wind is at that level. I thought that the alarm only with off with the mailbox lid being opened, but apparently the lid vibrating with the wind is enough to set it off too. Not a big issue but, that's the only reason that I removed a single star. Mind you, it's flat asMy mailbox is approx 100-150ft from my house, and it always alerts when the mail arrives...alarm on the base unit, and notifications on my phone.

Didn’t think id buy this gadget but now I’m in love with it
This is one of the products that I didn’t expect to buy at first, but I’m in love with its functionality after having it. I don’t need to run to my mailbox to check if the mail is delivered or not. The hub alerts you, and it also delivers a phone notification through the app. Wonderful tool!!

Unexpectedly helpful. Happy we got it.
Our mail box is several hundred feet from our house out, so it isn't easy to check the mail box. Our delivery does not come at the same time by any means, so sometime we just didn't bother to check the mail every day. This notifier has been really great. It plays a very pleasant tone in the house to let us know when the mail is here. Also sends notification to phone.A small, but unexpectedly nice helpful way to know the mail came.
